Somehow I missed out on any excursions with my camers(s) over the weekend, but, that's OK as it means I get to go through and give an airing to some of the ones that didn't quite make the first cut.

I have introduced you to Alan the sea urchin before, but he complained that I'd caught him unprepared and not used his 'good side' so to stop his moaning I set up a full-on photoshoot to show him in all his glory. Alan won't like this one bit but I also photographed is his big brother, Marvin, who is a lot less touble...
They're both equally handsome, I'm sure you'll agree, and they're good at sitting very still for long exposures :)
Here's another installment of Pentax K1000 piccies. Sorry the subject matter is a little dull but I was testing it out to make sure it work so I was snapping at anything and everything, like a madwoman! (Including yet another shopping trolley)...
Having said that though I love to look for the beauty in everyday things. Look at this door, so beautiful, like powder-blue felt. A digital camera could probably have captured the beauty, but perhaps not the subtle chalkiness. It even makes the shiny, hard lines of the bicycles look soft and allureing.
I love this sign; the subtlety of the gold typograohy against the bold and contrsating shades in the marble. Classy.
Can't stop long. I have all sort of plates spinning here and I can see one or two of them slowing down and looking very precarious!
I had to share a few of piccies though, as I have just got my first batch of photos back from the lab that I took with my new Pentax K1000. Another new (old) camera that I am in love with!
I love the crisp-yet-soft, muted quality of the images, and the f/1.2 lens means there's lots of fun to be had with depth of field too.
This one with the milk bottles is my favourite - the softness puts my in mind of a Polaroid - I may have to take some shots of the same thing with both cameras to compare.
This is the beast in question, it even has a lightmeter built in which is a bit of a luxury compared with some of the vintage cameras I've been using lately...
Nothing males me happier than being out with my cameras , so today was a great day!

I've metioned this before; that mid-Februrary is the perfect time for celebrating a brand new year. After the bleakness and cold of the previous months it finally feels like things are warming up and coming alive again, so beat those drums, clash those symbols and make those dragons and lions dance!

Today's photos might look spooky and bleak but really I'm feeling quite jolly. Not least beacause it was 'Meatball Wednesday' in IKEA today - guess what I had for my tea!

This naughty swan would go and move just as I took this photo! Doesn't he realise that this is a film camera and that I only get 12 goes per roll? He's obviously a digital-lover.
The pigeons though were much better behaved and film-friendly. Lazy, some might say, but conveniently static...
One of my favourite shops in Southampton (for photographing) is the Beatnik Emporium, a vintagey/retro fashion store next to the park.
My Hasselbladski Zenith 80 enjoyed the opportunity of some colour and light intead of all those wintry trees.
This last one reminds me of something from Dr Who!
